Aotearoa Manuka Honey
Aotearoa (Māori: [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]): is the Māori name for New Zealand. It was originally used by the Māori people in reference to only the North Island but, since the late 19th century, the word has come to refer to the country as a whole. Several meanings have been proposed for the name; the most popular meaning usually given is “land of the long white cloud”, or variations thereof. This refers to the cloud formations which helped early Polynesian navigators find the country.
Since the 1990s, Aotearoa has been customary to sing the New Zealand national anthem, “God Defend New Zealand” (or “Aotearoa”), in both Māori and English, exposing the name to a wider audience.

Why can Aotearoa honey Limited provide high concentration UMF Manuka honey?
Aotearoa originally referred to the North Island area of New Zealand as having an unparalleled clean and green natural environment. Large areas of the area are protected in Maori settlements, parks and reserves. That’s why it’s known as the last unspoided land on earth. Aotearoa conjures up images of unsullied earth, crystal clear streams and dense forests where native plants and animals thrive, providing unparalleled fertility for the natural growth of New Zealand’s unique wild Manuka trees. The plant was used in the early Maori for medicine. This mature bush, untroubled by rival flora or interference from cultivated crops, allows Manuka tree lives in such a habitat. Our hives will be placed in such a remote and quiet wild forest. Therefore, the high-quality honey sources create our high concentration Manuka honey.
